The Philips 9700 series represent the premier range of FlatTV displays with an innovative, design-led approach. The series offers a full HD LCD display with the latest Ambilight

Unparalleled innovation in processing power
The Philips 9700 FlatTV series delivers best-in-class screen performance through the astonishing raw processing power of Philips second generation Perfect Pixel HD Engine. The
Perfect Pixel HD Engine utilizes a holistic approach for picture quality enhancement by modifying each factor in the picture-processing pathway, from HD input to producing the
entire full HD 1080p experience. This technology delivers the highest picture quality found on LCD TVs.
The Perfect Pixel HD Engine delivers the fastest Clear LCD refresh rates in the world at 100Hz providing razor-sharp moving images with an ultra-fast motion response time of two
milliseconds (2ms). By doubling the picture refresh rate from the standard 50Hz to 100Hz and combining this with sophisticated motion compensation picture processing, these sets
deliver swift, streak-free action - elevating image quality and clarity.
The Perfect Pixel HD Engine comprises several processing modules including Perfect Natural Motion, Perfect Contract and Perfect Colors.
- Perfect Natural Motion technology provides substantial improvements in sharpness during fast motion. It creates a halo-free, fluent picture which is sharp and judder free.
Perfect Natural Motion offers 500 million pixels of processing power.
- Perfect Colors features in the 9700 series includes a Wide Color Gamut display and xvYCC input resulting in more vivid, realistic colors. It includes a 17-bit Color Booster
which can display up to 2,250 trillion colors, producing brilliant, life-like images and lifelike skin tones.
- Perfect Contrast makes the dark parts darker and the bright parts brighter, which results in improved details on both bright and dark scenes, and improvements in the shadow
detail and black levels in dark scenes while greatly diminishing motion artifacts. This results in Dynamic Contrast ratios of up to 30,000:1.
Immerse yourself in Ambilight Spectra
Combined with state-of-the-art picture performance, Philips latest Ambilight Spectra 3 technology further immerses and engages viewers like no other display. This advanced
lighting feature accurately identifies dominant onscreen colors and projects them from three sides of the TV set onto the wall and forwards towards the viewer further enhancing the
TV viewing experience. The Ambilight Spectra on each side independently generates a series of colors that match a part of the picture on screen, rather than a whole block of colours
on the left and right sides. Ambilight Spectra 3 also adjusts the timing of its LED’s to help enhance on-screen motion. The result is a more relaxed and immersive viewing experience.
Easy-to-use settings and simple steps to connect your devices
Calibrating picture settings is a breeze with Philips unique settings assistant feature. In a few easy steps, users can select their on-screen preferences with the left and right
cursor buttons. By using a program similar to an eye test, viewers can select what they perceive as the best picture and sound.
Connectivity to a world of HD content
The 9700 series offers four HDMI 1.3a+EasyLink inputs for the cleanest, clearest digital signal. Users can connect as many as four HDMI devices, such as Blu-ray and next generation
